Event Recap
SUG France - September 2026 Event Recap
Thank You for Joining Us!
A huge thank you to everyone who joined our September 2026 Sitecore User Group France event!
We had another great evening packed with AI-powered development, agentic workflows, Next.js performance, and practical Sitecore automation. The sessions showcased how Sitecore teams are moving beyond experimentation and putting new capabilities into practice on real projects.
A special thank you to all of our speakers for sharing their expertise, demos, and real-world experience, and to everyone who joined the discussions and asked questions throughout the evening.
If you couldn't attend live, or would like to revisit a session, you'll find the session details and recordings below.
Event Highlights
This meetup explored several areas that are becoming increasingly important for modern Sitecore development:
- ◆Running enterprise coding agents alongside Sitecore development teams
- ◆Building and using agents with Sitecore Agentic Studio
- ◆Implementing Next.js Cache Components with Sitecore
- ◆Moving content between Sitecore environments using the Content and Item Transfer APIs
- ◆Real-world lessons, implementation patterns, and the trade-offs behind these technologies
Session Recordings
From Copilot to Colleague: Running Enterprise Coding Agents on Our Sitecore Team
Speakers: Anna Bründel & Manuel Janzen
What happens when an AI coding agent moves beyond helping with individual coding tasks and starts taking on real work?
Anna and Manuel demonstrated how their Copilot agent can take an Azure DevOps ticket, retrieve design information and tokens from Figma, create items in SitecoreAI, and build the frontend in a Next.js application.
The session focused on their experience running this workflow alongside a real development team, including the productivity gains they have seen — around 80% less hands-on backend effort and half the frontend effort — as well as the areas where the approach still needs improvement.
A practical look at what it takes to move enterprise coding agents from experimentation into real project delivery.
Sitecore Agentic Studio – In and Out
Speaker: Arvind Gehlot
Arvind provided an introduction to Sitecore Agentic Studio, covering the key concepts and terminology behind the platform and the types of operations that can be performed using agents.
The session also walked through the process of creating a new agent, covering its key building blocks and configuration, followed by a practical demonstration of building an agent using Sitecore Agentic Studio.
A useful introduction for anyone looking to understand how Sitecore's agentic capabilities can be applied in practice.
Caching Sitecore: A Deep Dive into Next.js Cache Components
Speaker: Nick Allen
This session took a deep dive into Next.js Cache Components and how they can be used with Sitecore.
Starting with the fundamentals, Nick explored the Cache Components setup generated by Sitecore's Content SDK before moving into lessons learned from implementing the approach on a real project.
The session covered:
- ◆What gets cached in a Sitecore application
- ◆How cache boundaries affect application behavior
- ◆How content changes trigger cache invalidation
- ◆Implementation patterns and practical considerations
- ◆The trade-offs involved when introducing Cache Components
A particularly practical session for teams looking to improve performance while maintaining predictable content delivery and invalidation behavior.
Beyond Packages – Moving Content Between Sitecore Environments, the API Way
Speaker: Ghanendra Singh
Ghanendra explored a more API-driven approach to moving content between Sitecore environments using the Sitecore Content Transfer API and Item Transfer API.
The session included demonstrations of both APIs and showed how they can be combined to build a dedicated content transfer application.
The session provided a practical look at how the APIs can be used beyond traditional package-based approaches and how they can support more automated and scalable content movement workflows.
Key Takeaways
AI agents are moving into real development workflows
The discussions around coding agents highlighted a shift from AI as an experimentation tool toward AI becoming an active part of enterprise development workflows, handling meaningful pieces of work while developers remain responsible for oversight and delivery.
Sitecore is embracing agentic development
Sitecore Agentic Studio provides a framework for creating and working with agents, opening up new possibilities for automating operations and extending Sitecore workflows.
Performance requires understanding the caching model
Next.js Cache Components introduce powerful caching capabilities, but getting the most out of them requires a clear understanding of cache boundaries, invalidation, and how they interact with Sitecore content delivery.
APIs are opening new approaches to content transfer
The Content and Item Transfer APIs provide developers with programmatic ways to move Sitecore content between environments, creating opportunities for custom automation and more integrated deployment workflows.
Real-world implementation matters
Across all four sessions, one theme stood out: the value of moving beyond the theoretical capabilities of new technologies and understanding how they behave in real projects — including the limitations, trade-offs, and lessons learned along the way.
